Teaching Assistant, SEND

Term time plus 1 week

Wells Cathedral School seeks to appoint two Teaching Assistants to provide essential support for class teachers. One position is to support a pupil in year 8 and the other position is to support a pupil in year 7. The successful candidate will be required to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals and groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

Previous experience of working with children or young people with physical /learning difficulties and the ability to support numeracy development at KS3/4 is essential for this role.
