Pupils Driving/Use of Cars

Some pupils may pass their driving test whilst they are in the Sixth Form and may wish to drive to School. Parking is a subject fraught with tension in the local area and so we take the details of pupils' cars in order to protect them from accusations of unsafe driving or illegal parking. Failure to abide by the rules set by the School for pupil drivers may result in disciplinary sanctions.

When under School responsibility, pupils must not be driven in a car by other pupils or by anyone under 21 unless exceptional circumstances arise. In such circumstances, parents of both the driver (in the case of pupils) and the passengers will need to give their permission to House staff for a specified journey before it can be authorised. Pupils are not allowed to transport other pupils to and from the games fields or astroturf.

Boarders may not keep cars in the local area unless exceptional circumstances arise. In such cases, parents should discuss the matter with house staff. If permission is given, car keys must be held by House staff.

Day pupils intending to drive to school, with or without a sibling, should complete this form to ensure parental and house staff approval and involvement and also thereby contribute to general supervision and safety.

Pupils may not park in School Grounds. Pupils who park in public areas should show respect and courtesy to local residents. In filling in this form you agree to use a car in compliance with the above School rules and regulations.
