Arthur Mayhew, Assistant Head (pastoral and co-curricular)
I came to Wells because I was attracted to the people and the school’s culture. As well as my role as assistant head of pastoral care and the co-curriculum, I also teach maths and am a sports coach. I believe strongly that we can always improve, and my favourite part of what I do is being able to work with people to find ways to make things better.
Before Wells, I worked at Christ’s Hospital School in Sussex where I was housemaster for 60 boys aged 11-17 and held the roles of second in department and head of athletics and squash. I like to spend time with my family and friends, tread the boards, go to the cinema, travel, learn languages, play sport, board games and Irish folk fiddle. I am currently studying for an MSc in Educational Leadership. I am married to Carolina, and our son Rafael attends Wells Junior School.
