Join us for an exciting, fun day of ensemble playing, masterclasses and more

10.00am – 5.00pm in Cedars Hall
Evening performance 6.00 – 7.45pm by the RCM Trombone Ensemble and Trombone Day participants

Please note we will perform some massed trombone pieces at the start of the 6.00pm RCM Trombone Ensemble concert. Whilst we hope you will be able to stay for the concert, participation is optional. The concert will end around 7.45pm, with an interval in the middle at around 6.50pm

Admission is free for British Trombone Society members, £10 for non-members.
Open to all ages and abilities. Refreshments will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch.

Byron Fulcher

Byron is Principal Trombone in the
Philharmonia Orchestra and London Sinfonietta,
and a professor of trombone at the RCM. He
can be heard on the soundtrack of over one
hundred films including Gladiator, Lord of the
Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End,
Wallace and Gromit, Curse of the Were-Rabbit
and the Harry Potter series.

James Buckle
James Buckle

James studied at Wells Cathedral School and
the RAM. He is Principal Bass Trombone in the
Philharmonia Orchestra and a professor at the
RCM. He has played with orchestras all over the
world, won the Royal Over-Seas League Gold
Medal for solo performance, and is a licensed
skydiver!

The Royal College of Music’s Trombone
Department has enjoyed a growing
reputation in recent years, commissioning
new music and working with numerous
music schools and Hubs. The Trombone
Choir won the 2022 BTS Intercollegiate
Trombone Choir Competition.
