HRH the Duke of Gloucester Visit
HRH the Duke of Gloucester visited Vicars’ Close and Cedars Hall last Tuesday, on a joint visit to the school and Wells Cathedral. His Royal Highness was escorted on a tour of Vicars’ Close; the most complete example of a medieval Close in the UK and built 650 years ago to house the men of the Cathedral choir. Later in the afternoon, he visited Cedars Hall, where he met Elizabeth Cairncross, Andy Kemp, Julie Barrow and Cedars Hall architect, Eric Parry, along with head boy Angus and head girl Zoe. The Duke attended Evensong in the Cathedral before departing Wells in a helicopter.
