Our vibrant and busy school provides flexibility for families by offering additional activities before and after our ‘normal’ school day.
The school day is divided into six lessons with breaks in the morning and afternoon and 50 minutes for lunch. Lunch operates on a cafeteria style system, with a careful balance of freedom and supervision to ensure everyone is eating well.
Children are able to do prep in Jocelyn House from 4.15pm until 5.15pm; this is always supervised by a member of staff. They can also choose to join one of our after-school activities (see below for details).
During lunch and after school, the children have opportunities to try something new, discover something they enjoy and are good at, or simply pursue and develop an existing hobby or interest as part of our extensive and varied activity programme.
We believe that every child has strengths and hidden talents; our challenge as teachers and educators is to discover what these are and then nurture them. Our activity programme is a key vehicle to enable this to happen and helps our children to become self-motivated individuals with increased confidence and self-esteem.
Our dedicated team of staff are able to provide a wide range of clubs; from from street dance to Rookie Lifeguard, engineering to gardening and everything else in between. Some of the new activities added to the programme have been in response to requests from the School Council, which provides an active pupil voice in the Prep School.
A wide array of extra-curricular activities provides excellent opportunities for pupils to develop individual enthusiasms and include cheerleading, drama, dance and sports.
We have designated drop off and pick up points depending on your child’s year so you can do the school run safely. Alternatively, our bus service allows families an easy, safe alternative to get to School. We offer discounts on our bus service for families with more than one child: families with two children receive a 25% discount and families with three or more children receive a 50% discount.
Our bus routes are based on our current users’ needs so please contact us if you would like us to to consider a new stop to an existing route, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
We offer a Breakfast and Supper Club for families who need it. With healthy meal options, it even makes getting ready in the morning and the hustle and bustle of arriving home less stressful.
Breakfast Club starts from 7.45am for £2.00 per child, per day.
Supper Club goes until 6.00pm for £2.50 per child, per day.
