BURSARIES

We make need-based financial awards (Bursaries) to families from a broad range of income levels. However, for our Bursary programme to be truly effective and to aid as many deserving families as possible, it is expected that families will make their children’s education a financial priority.

Does Wells seem like the perfect school for your family? If so, please don’t let your finances stop you from finding out more about us.

Whilst our Bursary funds are limited, and sadly we are not able to help all families who are deserving of assistance, we are committed to helping as many deserving pupils as possible and we will be pleased to work with you to see if we can help.

We make need-based financial awards (bursaries) to families from a broad range of income levels. Please note that for our Bursary programme to be truly effective and to aid as many deserving families as possible, it is expected that families will make their children’s education a financial priority.

The goal of our Bursary programme is twofold: to attract and enrol pupils from diverse backgrounds; and to offer our unique educational opportunity to deserving pupils whose parents lack the means themselves. Bursaries may take a variety of forms. Examples include a percentage of tuition or boarding fees, a proportion of the difference between tuition and boarding fees, or a fixed sum.

Whilst the Admission and Bursary processes at Wells are separate we attempt to notify all new pupils and their families of our Bursary decisions as quickly as possible after notifying them of our Admission decisions.

Applying for financial support

If you would like to apply for Bursary support please either discuss this with our Admissions team or email [email protected]

Working in conjunction with our independent assessors, we have a dedicated secure on-line portal for Bursary applications which is managed by our Bursary Team. Once the required information has been gathered, it is then shared with the independent assessors who will be in contact directly to arrange either a virtual meeting or a home visit. They will then send the School a report, which is considered by our Bursary Committee.

Please remember that we also award a number of Scholarships each year to recognise a variety of talents. Scholarships are awarded on merit. Click here to find out more information about our Scholarships.

You also can contact the Educational Grants Advice Service for grants information and advice on +44 (0)1932 865619 from 9am-11am, Monday – Friday.
