Recital Music Composition Competition 2021
Congratulations to two Wells Double Bassists, who submitted new pieces for unaccompanied double bass in this year’s Recital Music Composition Competition, which were then judged by an international jury.
Upper Sixth pupil Jan Cowell was awarded second prize, winning £75, and seeing off talented entrants from the USA, Mexico, Hong Kong, Chile and Italy. Lower Sixth pupil Brian Choy’s piece was commended.
Jan has just achieved his performance ATCL Diploma (Associate of Trinity College London) with distinction under the tutelage of David Heyes at Wells.
