Winner of Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition
Congratulations to Upper Sixth pianist, Sejin Yoon, who has been announced as one of the three winners in the Piano section of the prestigious Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition for 2021.
This year the competition was held remotely and attracted a wide international field. The winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony on Friday 30th April by a distinguished panel of judges: John Wallace CBE, Katherine Bryan, Tasmin Little OBE, Natalie Clein OBE, Joanna MacGregor CBE and Sam Haywood.
Winners will receive certificates and a cash prize as well as written feedback from the two judges in their section over the course of the next week.
Wells Head of Keyboard, John Byrne said, “The competition has an upper age limit of 28 and attracts mostly postgraduates and young professional pianists so for Sejin to do so well, aged just 17, is a considerable achievement.”
