Junior School Artist Visits
Our Junior School pupils have been very busy improving their artistic technique with the help of some external visitors.
Mary-Ann Wills, a local artist and teacher, joined the Junior School art enrichment group to show them different techniques based on Jasper Johns’ Number paintings. After an interesting demonstration, the children had a go at applying the techniques themselves. The results were fantastic! Click here to view Mary-Ann Wills’ work.
Kath Hadden, an artist from Exeter, spent time with Year 3, teaching them how to paint a seascape using acrylic paint on canvas. Each pupil chose a photo to replicate and had to look very closely at their chosen photo to map out the image. Kath was very impressed by the children’s mixing skills; the finished paintings were wonderful! Click here to find out more about Kath Hadden and her work.
