French Christmas Box
The 7M French set were met with a nice surprise in their first French lesson after the Christmas break: a Christmas box sent by a French school!
Mrs Alabiso paired the classes and assisted the Wells group with preparation of a British Christmas box containing traditional goodies such as marmite, shortbread biscuits and English tea alongside English magazines, leaflets from local tourist spots and School brochures. The pupils wrote Christmas cards in both English and French to introduce themselves, and received cards from their French peers accompanied by handmade crackers containing a dazzling array of French sweets. Upon translation of the introductory cards, the class will now decide which of their counterparts they have the most in common with so that every pupil is assigned a penpal and the two groups will be writing to each other in their lessons over the coming weeks.
