Dr Ian Rapley Speaks to Bernard Society

The Bernard Society enjoyed their first talk of the Epiphany Term on the evening of Thursday 26th January with Dr Ian Rapley, Lecturer in East Asian Studies from the Department of History at the University of Cardiff. The evening began with a buffet before Dr Rapley addressed the pupils about the Meji Restoration, Nationalism and Modernisation in Japan from 1868-1912. Pupils had the opportunity to ask perceptive questions at the end of the talk, and we thank Dr Rapley for sharing his knowledge with us.
