Music Technology trip to Rockfield Studios
Ten Sixth Form Music Technology pupils participated in a trip to Rockfield Studios (South Wales), famous for seminal recordings of Black Sabbath, Robert Plant, Queen, Coldplay and Oasis, to name a few.
Following a tour of the impressive facility (including seeing the wall that Oasis’ Wonderwall is based on!), pupils spent the remainder of the day recording in the studio with the assistance of a professional recording engineer. As well as operating a priceless Neve mixing console, pupils had access to vintage microphones and various other outboard gear.
The studio’s engineer commented on how much he enjoyed working with the pupils, not only as talented musicians, but also as curious and aspirational music technicians.
