Sierra Leone Project post-Glastonbury fundraiser

On Monday 26th June, after very few hours of sleep and with their ears full of Music, Dimity Williams, Ella Sturdy and Emily Morris (Lower Sixth) led the way to a fantastic fundraiser for the School’s charitable Sierra Leone Project. The girls, aptly aided by Archie (Lower Sixth) and George Mycock (Year 9), sold bacon rolls and drinks to the traffic coming from the Glastonbury Festival.

A big thank you also to the rest of the Mycock family who helped with storing the drinks, baps and then cooking the bacon! The girls took it upon themselves to organise the whole thing and it is a credit to them and to the Mycocks that an amazing £1300 has been raised. The money will go towards sponsoring music and academic scholarships in the two schools we support in Freetown which we work with when we visit in October.

A fantastic example of initiative and resilience! Ms Desmarchelier, Sierra Leone Project Manager, extends a big thank you from the bottom of her heart.
