Chinese New Year celebrations
On Monday 5th February, the Senior School held its annual Cathedral service celebrating the contribution of our international pupils. This always coincides with the time of year when Chinese New Year and other lunar festivals are celebrated in Asia. Traditional instrumental music was played, a traditional Chinese song sung, poems read in Mandarin, Mrs Bird, Head of EAL, gave an address, and the Lord’s Prayer was said in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
In the Prep School, Year 4 celebrated Chinese New Year by sharing the story of the Chinese Zodiac, creating their own dragon pictures and learning how to use chopsticks to eat delicious prawn crackers.
