Geneva exchange
A big thank you to the families and Houseparents who hosted Swiss pupils from our partner school, Institut Florimont in Geneva.
The visitors took part in a variety of activities including visits to Wookey Hole Caves, the Roman Baths and the SS Great Britain, as well as a detective mystery around Wells and lessons in the School. They commented to exchange organiser Ms Desmarchelier, the School’s Director of Languages, how much they enjoyed the lessons as things are so different in their school in Geneva.
Sixteen Wells pupils from Year 9 to Year 11 spent a week with the French-speaking pupils in Geneva, visiting the UN HQ, the Olympic Museum and learning to make chocolate, and it was wonderful to welcome the Swiss pupils to Wells!
Ms Desmarchelier said, “It is always difficult to know how things are going to pan out and to judge the pairing of pupils, but it works every year and it is a great way to experience another culture. I look forward to next year’s exchange for our current Year 8 and Year 9 pupils!”
