Archie wins BHS Emerging Composer Award
Many congratulations to Archie B (Upper Sixth) who entered the British Horn Society (BHS) composition competition and was judged runner up, consequently winning the Emerging Composer Award! Archie’s composition, ‘The Curlew’, evokes the plight of the endangered curlew in the Scottish Cairngorms and was premiered live at the BHS Festival at the Royal Northern College of Music by a horn player studying at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh. Well done, Archie.
