UK Junior Maths Challenge
In May, 56 pupils from Years 7 and 8 and six Prep School pupils sat this year’s Junior Mathematics Challenge, a 60 minute problem-solving multiple choice test designed to stretch pupils’ mathematical thinking. The top 10% of achievers are awarded Gold Certificates by the UK Mathematics Trust, with seven of our pupils achieving this standard. In addition six pupils were awarded Silver Certificates and 10 were awarded Bronze Certificates.
The highest scorer in School was Eryn R (Year 8) with an impressive 114/135, the highest in Year 7 William LJ and the highest in Year 6 scored 106/135 and was awarded a Gold Certificate. Our other Gold Certificate winners are Shanna F, Giovanni F, Lucas H-B, Ryan H and Kukhanya M (Year 8). Many congratulations to Eryn, Shanna, Giovanni, Ryan and Charlotte who have secured a place in the follow-on round (Junior Kangaroo) which takes place in June, and indeed to all certificate winners.
