Silver DofE expedition
Our Silver DofE groups took on their practice expedition across Dartmoor from 7th-9th June. Day one brought extreme weather – so wet it might’ve been drier standing under a shower! Despite being soaked through, every pupil kept their spirits high and pushed on without complaint. On Sunday and Monday, the teams tackled unsupported hikes across Dartmoor’s famously boggy and challenging terrain. Each group covered impressive distances, hiking for over eight hours a day while carrying all of their kit. Navigation was tough, but their determination never wavered. All of the staff present were incredibly impressed with everyone’s resilience, teamwork and effort throughout and are looking forward to seeing them all again for their qualifying expedition at the end of the summer!
