Success for Wells Cathedral School’s Class of 2025 as They Secure Top A-Level Grades and Bright Futures
We are delighted once again to announce another year of excellent A-level results, with pupils achieving outstanding outcomes across a variety of subjects. These results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the pupils, as well as the unwavering support and guidance from teaching staff and parents.
Pupils have been celebrating their success across the range of subjects that are offered here at Wells, from natural sciences to the humanities and the creative arts.
Among many highlights were:
- 100% of Music pupils achieving A* to C
- 100% of Further Maths pupils achieving A* to C
- 100% of English Literature pupils achieving A* to C
- 100% of Photography pupils gaining an A* to B
- 100% of Art pupils achieving grades A* to B,
- 100% of Drama pupils achieving A to C
- 100% of Computing pupils achieving A to B
- 100% of Extended Project Qualification A* to C
- 90% of Maths pupils achieving A* to C
- 90% of Physics pupils achieving A to C
- 89% of Chemistry pupils achieving A* to C
Overall, the percentage of our pupils achieving grades A* to C stands at an impressive 83%, with over a third of our pupils achieving A*-A grades, which is above the national average in England. This demonstrates the consistent academic success seen across all subjects.

“We are all extremely proud of the achievements of our departing Upper Sixth and delighted to be celebrating their A Level success today. As always, their achievements are a result of individual hard work and determination coupled with the support of our exceptional teaching and pastoral staff, as well as pupils’ own parents and families. Moreover, they have done all this alongside brilliant achievements in so many other areas of School life, including Music, Sport, Drama, Dance, Outdoor Learning, and so much more. We are excited for them as they head off on the next chapter of their lives, and delighted that they leave us as such well-rounded, successful and aspiring young people. We wish them all the very best for the future.”
Sally Rowley, Head of Sixth Form added:
“I am delighted that our pupils have not only excelled in their A levels but have also secured places in a huge range of prestigious institutions. On top of that, the courses they will be studying are spectacularly diverse, ranging from Maths to Philosophy to Marine Biology”.
Destinations include Oxford, Durham, UCL, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music, with pupils studying a range of subjects from Natural Sciences to Music, Mathematics and Philosophy to Fashion Journalism.
There was shared success and celebrations for our Heads and Deputy Heads of School.
- Camilia H (Head of School) achieved A grades in French and Music and a B in Biology- she has been accepted to study Human Sciences at University College London (UCL).
- Oliver C (Head of School) has been accepted to study Economics and Finance at The University of Surrey. Having achieved A* in his EPQ, and B grades in Economics, Maths and History.
- Tabitha H (Deputy Head of School) achieved A*A*A and is going to study English Language and Literature at St Peter’s College at Oxford University. This is an outstanding achievement.
- Key Heng C, (Deputy Head of School) achieved a remarkable set of results, with A* in Music Technology, A in Physics and B in Maths. Key Heng is going to study at The University of Surrey to become a Tonmeister.
Alongside these successes, there are other notable achievements:
- Archie B will be joining Tabitha at Oxford University, where he will be studying Music, having achieved A*AA in Music, Maths and Music Technology.
- Elizabeth M achieved an outstanding A*A*A*in Music, Maths and Psychology. Elizabeth is going to study Bassoon at the Royal Academy of Music.
- Kenyon C, achieved a remarkable set of results, with A* in Chemistry and Maths, A grades in Physics and Maths. Key has accepted a place to study Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at Imperial College London
- Tiger S is celebrating being accepted to study PE at Oxford Brookes University, having achieved A,B,C in Geography, PE and Biology. These results are on top of his other achievements on the sports field this year as Cricket Captain, as well as playing for the Hockey and Rugby First Teams.
- Jess D achieved grade A in Drama and before Christmas had a starring role as Rosalia in West Side Story. She is going to study English Literature at Newcastle University, having also achieved an A* in Geography and a B in English Literature.
