Stage and screen star inspires Wells Drama pupils

We were delighted to welcome Katherine Kingsley — acclaimed for her work on stage and screen (The WitchesThe 39 StepsPiafSingin’ in the Rain) — to Wells last week for a practical workshop with 55 GCSE and A level Drama pupils in Cedars Hall. Katherine led pupils through exercises in character development, physical storytelling and working with text, encouraging them to explore truthful connection, emotional precision, and the craft behind compelling performance.

Following the workshop, Katherine spent time with a captivated group of Drama Scholars, sharing valuable insights from her professional career. Topics included audition preparation, securing an agent, and the realities of life as a working actor. Her generosity, warmth, and candour offered pupils an inspiring and authentic glimpse into the industry — a memorable experience that will undoubtedly shape their creative journeys.
