Geologist visit
We were joined by eminent volcanologist Dr Pete Rowley from the University of Bristol to work with the A level Geologists and Year 11 Geographers. He explained the challenges of forecasting volcanoes to the Sixth Form, developing concepts studied at A level and cutting edge research using examples from around the world. GCSE Geographers were asked to complete a practical Volcano Management task in which they were asked to respond to the changing behaviour of an active volcano by planning its evacuation.
