Lost Atoms lights up Bristol Old Vic for Drama pupils
Our Drama Department took 50 GCSE and A level Drama pupils to Bristol Old Vic to experience Lost Atoms, a captivating contemporary production created by Frantic Assembly, the acclaimed physical theatre company. The play explores themes of identity, memory and human connection, combining emotional depth with striking visual storytelling and dynamic movement.
This visit followed a previous workshop with Frantic Assembly at our School, where the same pupils explored the company’s signature style of physicality, ensemble work and inventive staging. Many pupils are now drawing on these stylistic ideas as they develop their upcoming examined Devised pieces, making the trip an inspiring continuation of their learning journey.
Directed by Scott Graham, the production received high praise for its inventive staging, ensemble performances and immersive atmosphere, offering pupils a firsthand look at professional theatre at its most innovative.
For our pupils, this trip was far more than a theatre outing—it was an opportunity to see the practical application of techniques they had explored in workshops, deepen their understanding of contemporary theatre and spark new ideas for their own creative work.
