Wells Cathedral School is seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative Teacher of Religion, Philosophy & Ethics (RPE) to join our successful and forward-thinking department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring pupils to explore the big questions of religion, philosophy and ethics. You will teach across the age and ability range, from Key Stage 3 through to A Level, helping pupils to develop their knowledge, critical thinking and confidence in engaging with different beliefs and worldviews.
Our RPE department enjoys a strong academic reputation, with pupils achieving excellent examination results and progressing to leading universities to study Theology, Philosophy and related subjects. At KS3, our broad and stimulating curriculum encourages philosophical enquiry and ethical debate, while at GCSE and A Level pupils develop the skills needed for academic success and thoughtful engagement with the world around them.
We are looking for a teacher who will bring drive, imagination and enthusiasm to the classroom; inspire pupils to think critically and engage confidently with challenging ideas; have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning; contribute positively to the wider life of the School and its co-curricular programme and share our commitment to developing respectful, thoughtful and open-minded young people.
