Enjoy an inspirational day with three fabulous tutors at Wells Cathedral School in collaboration with the Royal College of Music. The day will focus on horn ensemble playing and the workshops will take place in and around Cedars Hall, our state of the art concert hall. The day will include:
Coached ensembles to develop your ensemble and horn playing
A lunchtime recital by the tutoring team and Royal College of Music Horn Quartet for participants
Paxman Horns trade stand with horns and accessories to try and buy
A concert featuring the participants for family and friends at the end of the day.

Zoë Tweed is a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and professor of horn at the Royal College of Music. She has recorded music for film and TV, and performed instrumentals on albums by artists such as Alison Sudol and Cody Fry. Zoë grew up in Wells, studying with Simon de Souza at Wells Cathedral School.
Simon de Souza studied with virtuoso Ifor James before becoming a horn player and teacher. He performs with the quintet Chaconne Brass and freelances with orchestras and in the West End. Simon teaches as a specialist horn teacher at Wells Cathedral School and was formerly at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
David Oxley studied at Wells and the RCM and now works as a performer in popular West End musical theatre shows. He has played with the great Dame Shirley Bassey, pop band McFly and many great jazz performers. He teaches at the London Oratory School.
