Geology Schools Challenge
Mr Rowley is very pleased to say that the Wells team has been selected as finalists for the 2025 Geology Schools Challenge! The final will be held on Tuesday 18th March at Burlington House in Piccadilly, London, beginning at 10am and ending at approximately 4.30pm. The team, consisting of Will P, Oliver, Charlie, Monty, Will L and Archie, produced a Netflix-inspired website which recommends geological films.
The judges wrote a number of positive comments, including:
“I loved this! What a unique entry. I was sure I had accidentally logged onto Netflix. You really met the brief and it was so creative. A big well done from me. You can tell a massive effort went into the creation of this. Very unique!”
“This entry is incredible, not only did you cover and explain a broad range of geological processes but by using the context of films you effectively communicated this to your audience. I loved the use of the genres below the film title to highlight the key processes you would be discussing. Creating the website as its own Netflix is highly engaging for your audience but also effective in communicating to them as it will be familiar (it looked incredible!). Your deep dive into the films were original and really fun to read.”
