Dance team shines at STARZUK Competition
On Saturday 7th June, our talented Dance Team (Amber P in Year 9, Heidi A, Henry F, Dior A in Year 10, Frankie W, Josie C in Lower Sixth and Camilla H in Upper Sixth) took to the stage at the STARZUK Dance Competition, facing off against over 200 outstanding performances from dance schools across the South West. It was a truly inspiring day, and our team danced their hearts out in seven routines, including solos, duets and group performances. We are so proud of every dancer who represented the School with such passion, positivity and professionalism.
We are thrilled that the team took first place in group lyrical dance, Henry first place in contemporary solo and Camilla second place in lyrical solo. Frankie was selected as a finalist in the judges’ dance challenge, Dior and Henry were selected as top six in the judges’ dance challenge and Henry received highest scoring teen solo, stand-out teen soloist, the golden buzzer award, photoshoot winner and CYD convention pass. Congratulations to all of our Dance team for another incredible event!
Additionally, Henry and Heidi competed in the Taunton Dance Festival over half Term. In very competitive fields representing dancers from all over the South West, Henry won Gold medals for lyrical and character classes and a Silver medal for modern. Heidi won Gold medals in modern and contemporary classes and a Bronze in character. Well done to both of them.
