Project Description

Charlie Little, Interim Bursar and Clerk to Governors

I joined Wells as Interim Bursar and Clerk to Governors in September 2026. I have been either a bursar or COO in education for 12 years and have worked in both permanent and interim roles at Prep, Senior and all-through schools as well as an educational group and foundation. I hope to be able to bring my experience and knowledge from an equal mix of day and boarding schools within the independent sector to Wells Cathedral School.

Prior to education, I began my career in business, working in sales and marketing for both Mobil Oil Company and Pirelli Tyres. With a love of all sports, I then became Marketing Manager at Gloucester Rugby, and my role then expanded to include all commercial responsibilities. As a business generalist, I then moved up the M5 to become Managing Director of Worcester Warriors and oversaw the Sixways Stadium development from 2006 to 2013. During this time, I was also a director of Premier Rugby Ltd. I also ran my own sports consultancy business which worked with the rugby charity Wooden Spoon and delivered the Rugby League World Cup in 2013.

Having been born and raised in Somerset, it is lovely to be working at Wells Cathedral School. I have cousins who are Old Wellensians, family in Cheddar and my father worked across the region with an office in the centre.

When I am not working, I am usually found either following, and occasionally participating, in some form of sport, or enjoying family life with my wife and three adult children.
