Countertenor Iestyn has performed to great acclaim at many of the most important opera houses in the world, including La Scala Milan, the Royal Opera House and the New York City Opera. He is due to make his recital debut in the Carnegie Hall, New York.
A student of Wells Cathedral School, Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music, Iestyn discovered his countertenor voice in a school chapel choir rehearsal in his final year at Wells.
Iestyn’s first solo disc – Cantatas by Porpora – has just been released with a second disc due in the spring. A regular performer at London’s Wigmore Hall, he will hold a residency there in the 2012-13 season.
