Salsa Brass Go! Registration

About the Project

This free project aims to bring young brass musicians aged under 18 together virtually to make music! We will provide the tools you need to learn and perform the scintillating SuperBrass piece Salsabasco. If you are between grade 2 and grade 8 standard and play Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn, French Horn, Tenor Horn, Euphonium, Trombone or Tuba, then there is a part for you! You will receive sheet music, backing tracks and a series of expert video tutorials to help you to enjoy playing the piece and improve your brass playing skills.

Once you feel ready (but no later March 24th please!), you’ll need to video your performance and share it with us. We will then get to work and create a virtual performance, and present it during an Online Celebration (date and time to be confirmed) featuring a brass masterclass with the international soloist Philip Cobb. The shared virtual performance will be similar in style to the ‘Happy’ video on this page (performed by our fabulous friends in the Percussion Department).

Participation in the Salsa Brass Go! is completely free! We are extremely grateful for the support of B&S brass instruments and SuperBrass. We hope you’ll join us for this fun and collaborative project – we can’t wait to hear your performance!

– Ross Brown, Co-ordinator of Brass Studies
