About Our Violin Day
This is a fantastic opportunity for violinists to enjoy an inspirational day in our state-of-the-art performance centre, Cedars Hall. The day includes:
- Masterclasses with Wells Cathedral School violin teachers
- Technique workshops and ensembles
- Advice sessions for parents
- A performance from senior Wells Cathedral School pupils

Praised for his “startling talent” by The Guardian, Simon has been active as a soloist, recording artist and teacher worldwide for 30 years. In addition to leading the String Department at Wells Cathedral School, Simon currently teaches at RNCM, Trinity Laban and the RCM (JD).
Alex is a violinist, conductor and Director of Music at Wells Cathedral School where he says “the musical buzz is palpable.” He is well known for his work with the Benedetti Foundation and with the National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain.
Catherine is Senior Violin Tutor at Wells Cathedral School, having had a long and prestigious solo career following scholarships to the RCM and the Julliard School, New York. Her teaching includes the RCM (JD). Many of her pupils have won competitions and international scholarships.
