South West Single Reed Day 2016

On 24th April, Wells woodwind department hosted the 2016 edition of our ever popular South West Single Reed Day. This year, guest tutors were Richard Hosford, clarinet professor from the Royal College of Music and Gerard McChrystal, saxophone professor from Trinity College and Royal Welsh College of Music alongside Wells tutors Andy Tweed, Marie Lloyd and Edward Leaker. The day attracted a bumper crowd to attend masterclasses, workshops, ensemble classes and tutors concert. Trade stands were provided by the sponsors for the day; Howarth of London, Wonderful Winds, Yanagisawa and Vandoren. Richard Hosford stayed on in Wells to give a masterclass to specialist clarinetists the following day.
