Following LSO Competition Success Zoe Adds Concerto Competition Success to Her Remarkable Year

Zoe a horn specialist in Y12 has continued to have an extraordinary 2015-16. Regular readers to the brass department blog will remember Zoe winning through in the LSO Brass Academy Competition and now Zoe has followed this up with another competition success by winning the Concerto Competition here at Wells. Zoe will perform Strauss Horn Concerto No 1 with the full symphony orchestra in Wells Cathedral in one of the three symphony orchestra concerts in the academic year 2016-17. The brass department has had a remarkable run in the concerto competition in recent years. This academic year Will a trumpet specialist in Y13 performed Arutunian’s Trumpet Concerto. Will has been awarded a scholarship to the Royal Welsh College starting in September. Two years ago horn specialist Oliver Davis performed Strauss Horn Concerto No 1. Oliver is now in his second year studying horn at The Royal Academy of Music in London. Huge congratulations to Zoe from all of us in the brass tower on another triumph.
