BBC Proms Inspire Competition
Congratulations to Thomas, whose composition, Mirage, has been highly commended in the prestigious BBC Proms Inspire Composition competition.
Head of composition, Paul Whitmarsh, said, “Thomas’s achievement is a huge success, as the BBC Proms composition competition is probably the most competitive and prestigious composition competition in the country.”
Thomas’ success is the fourth success in this competition in the last five years for Wells students, following in the footsteps of Rebecca Farthing (Winner, Upper Junior category 2017), Oliver Buckland (Highly Commended, Senior category 2015) and Thomas Carling (Highly Commended, Junior Category 2014).
“BBC Inspire is a brilliant scheme which invites young composers of all ages and abilities to get involved, no matter what genre or genres you write in. There are great workshop days with professional musicians at the top of their game, as well as the BBC Proms Inspire Competition.
