BBC Commission Broadcast
Congratulations to Year 13 student composer Rebecca, who has been working on a BBC commission as part of her prize for winning the BBC Inspire Young Composer Competition in 2017.
Rebecca’s composition, We Soldiers Must March, was written for a 13 piece orchestra and double bass obligato. This was recorded by the Aurora Orchestra on Wednesday 22nd August in a concert at BBC Broadcasting House in London.
The concert was filmed, with clips shown on BBC 2 over the summer, as part of the programme, Proms Extra.
The composition has also been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, accompanied by an interview with Rebecca.
