Literary Society
Sixth Form English students put on a regular evening Literary Society during term time, run by the English Faculty Captains and Head of English, Neil Bowen.
“Literature society is a wonderful opportunity for all literary fanatics to expand their knowledge of texts and contexts surrounding the English Language. Our aim is to help students develop a deeper understanding of the topics discussed not only in English classes, but also in other subjects. A recent example of this is our previous Lit.Soc. — Literature and the Mind, in which crossovers between psychology and literature, such as Freudian psychology and psychoanalytic criticism, were thoroughly discussed. We hope that the students attending will continue to be as enthused about literature as those of us leading these events throughout the year are.”
