Cathedral Hallelujahs
This year’s Primary School Christmas Concerts, which took place in Wells Cathedral, included a new composition of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ written by guest composer and conductor, Pete Letanka. The chorus provided an inspiring challenge for the 250 young voices, but the pupils rose to the occasion and delighted a packed audience. Mark Stringer, Wells Director of Music, led the singing and actions for the customary ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’, with many asserting that this wonderful festive event heralds the start of the Christmas countdown.
