New Street Ensemble

Eminent members of the Wells Cathedral School music faculty will set their teaching commitments aside for an evening of chamber music jewels in Cedars Hall on the evening of Thursday 17th January.

The New Street Ensemble, which comprises Marie Lloyd on clarinet, Simon Smith on violin, Penny Driver on cello and Joe Tong on piano, will perform a beautiful programme, including Ravel’s Sonata no.2 for violin and piano in G op.77; Suk’s Elegy op.23 for piano trio; Beethoven’s Trio for violin, clarinet and piano op.11; and Bartók’s Contrasts for clarinet, violin and piano BB 116 – a work inspired by its composer’s field trips collecting folk music in rural Romania and Eastern Hungary just before the First World War.

The concert will take place in Cedars Hall on Thursday 17th January between 7.00 – 9.00pm.

Tickets are from £15 and free for 25s and under. Click here to book.
