Senior UKMT Maths Challenge

17 Senior Wells pupils have achieved an award in this year’s Senior UKMT Maths Challenge.

The Challenge is a 90-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at pupils across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

Five Wells pupils achieved Gold and were selected for the follow-on Kangaroo papers; six pupils achieved Silver; whilst six achieved Bronze.

Congratulations to the following pupils:

Gold Award: Harry Chantrey, Francois Cloete, Amber Cooknell and Leo Li, Lower Sixth; and William Haskins, Upper Sixth

Silver Award: Lilian Hopper, Joshua Ng and Joel Sergeant, Year 11; Panagiotis Kurtis and Max Li, Lower Sixth; and Nicholas Richards, Upper Sixth

Bronze Award: Newton Hung, Year 11; Justin Chan, Rory Galloway and Timothy Ho, Lower Sixth; and Maria Sidorova and Joseph Slattery, Upper Sixth.
