Jersey Young Musician of the Year

Congratulations to Upper Sixth saxophonist, Charlotte Arthur, who has just been crowned Jersey Young Musician of the Year following success in the annual competition over the weekend which included a performance in the Final at the Jersey Opera House. Charlotte was also awarded the Audience Choice Prize for her performance.

Head of Instrumental & Vocal Coaching and Coordinator of Woodwind and Jazz Studies, Ed Leaker, said “Competition was tough as standards were very high so this is a real achievement for Charlotte.

The PwC Jersey Young Musician of the Year Competition is part of Jersey Music Service’s provision of opportunities for young musicians in Jersey. It incorporates the well-established sectional competitions for String, Woodwind, Piano, Brass, Voice and Percussion.
