¡Viva! Brass
Wells brass and percussion musicians joined forces with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Brass Ensemble for an evening of exhilarating music for brass and percussion in Cedars Hall on Wednesday, following a lively afternoon practice session.
Musicians presented a colourful exploration of over 300 years of music, from Handel’s Royal Music for both Water and Fireworks, Rimsky-Korsakov’s grand depiction of the Procession of the Nobles, Leonard Bernstein’s soundtrack to the 1954 film On the Waterfront, a suite describing some of the non-human residents of Mexico, alongside some surprise items by, amongst others, Deep Purple.
