24 Hour Challenge

24 Hour Challenge Raises Thousands for Musicians!

Throughout Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday morning, music staff at Wells completed a 120 mile 24 hour challenge to raise money for the charity Help Musicians UK and the Musicians Benevolent fund.

Every hour over a 24-hour period, 24 Wells staff each ran, walked, cycled or skated five miles, raising a total of over £4,000 (including Gift Aid) to date.

Communities around the world have turned to music during the coronavirus crisis, but many freelance Musicians are struggling as concert halls and theatres are closed.

Participants took hour long shifts between 0600 on Saturday 18th April and 0600 on Sunday 19th April, and included the following hardy athletes:

06:00 Tabea Debus; 07:00 Alison Armstrong; 08:00 Ed Leaker; 09:00 Simon De Souza; 10:00 Alastair Tighe; 11:00 Pete Harrison; 12:00 Marie Lloyd; 13:00 Liz Fyfe;14:00 Susie Hodder Williams; 15:00 Ellie Knott; 16:00 Georgie Hardy; 17:00 Nick Lauener; 18:00 Emma Arden; 19:00 Simon Smith; 20:00 Ross Brown; 21:00 Paul Whitmarsh; 22:00 Harvey Brink; 23:00 Liz Walker; 00:00 Mark Stringer; 01:00 Andrew Tween; 02:00 Tom Phillips; 03:00 Matt Hardy; 04:00 Jayne Obradovic; 05:00 Emma Walker.
