Two Moors Festival Winner
The delayed 2020 Two Moors Festival Competition took place over the last weekend in September at Taunton School, and seven Wells woodwind musicians took part.
Congratulations to Year 10 clarinettist Leo Wong, who was one of the four winners of this prestigious competition, winning a significant financial prize.
Year 9 flautist Lily Owens and Upper Sixth recorder player Cordelia Murray Brown were runners up.
All three Wells prize winners will take part in a masterclass with Anna Menzies focusing on performance skills, before their filmed concert and prize-giving on 3rd October, in the Taunton School Music Department.
Head of Instrumental and Vocal Coaching, Ed Leaker said, “All of our participants played brilliantly in their warm up performance class last week. This is a prestigious competition which always attracts some excellent young musicians from across the South West so very well done to all the prize winners.”
