Award for Scottish Ensemble
Congratulations to Wells violin teacher Jo Green and her 12 player-strong Scottish Ensemble, who won the Royal Philharmonic Society 2020 Ensemble Award ‘for sheer quality and innovation in [their] 50th birthday year’.
The award was given for work the Ensemble did prior to lockdown, but since then they have tried to stay connected with audiences by creating new work and sharing it digitally. As a result they have been chosen as one of the organisations chosen to receive support from the RPS Audience Fund, which was established in 2019 to give classical music organisations the means to devise fresh ways to attract, engage and retain new audiences.
