Young Organists’ Competition Winner

Congratulations to Upper Sixth musician François Cloete who has won the Advanced Class of the School Organists’ Association Young Organists’ Competition, and a financial prize.

The inaugural competition has just taken place online and was adjudicated by Professor Stephen Darlington MBE, formerly Organist and Tutor in Music at Christ Church, Oxford. Competitors submitted video files of their performances, although in future years it is intended to be run live.

The competition is for young organists aged eighteen and under; the Advanced Class comprises the performance of two pieces, contrasting in style and period, lasting not more than twelve minutes.
