Year 8 Pupils Investigate Wells Art

As busy as we are in our daily lives, we can, all too often, overlook many aspects of the environments in which we live, learn and work, no matter how spectacular or significant. On Monday 17th January, Year 8 pupils were given the opportunity to reflect upon and discover far more about two places they frequently visit: Wells Cathedral and The Bishop’s Palace. With the recent installation of Anthony Gormley’s sculpture ‘Doubt’ on the West Front of the Cathedral, Wells Heritage Partners (incorporating The Bishop’s Palace, Mendip Museum and Wells Cathedral) in conjunction with Project Factory have been running an exciting programme of one day visits for schools.

For our Year 8 pupils, their day included highly informative tours and a practical clay workshop, designed to encourage them to investigate, explore and understand these historical and cultural landmarks in far greater detail, incorporating ‘Doubt’. Pupils had an enjoyable and enriching day!
