CCF Fieldcraft Weekend
Twenty-four of our School CCF cadets from Years 10, 11 and Upper Sixth have had an enriching fieldcraft weekend on the Mendip Hills.
The cadets practiced occupying and maintaining a harbour area, living in the field, section and platoon attacks, patrol skills, break contact drills and fire drills as well as conducting a night ambush against a rather enthusiastic enemy who resembled a certain Head of History (he lost the firefight).
They were met with some testing conditions under their bashas with 50mph winds and heavy rain on both nights but displayed outstanding leadership as well as resilience, teamwork and humour throughout. Major Elks was mightily impressed and extends a special thank you to Capt. Lancey, Capt. Eldridge and Lt. Plum for their unwavering support and hard work running a very successful weekend of training.
