Sophie Represents England in Cross Country
Congratulations to Sophie Nicholls (Year 11) who was selected to run for England at the Home Countries’ Cross Country International, held at Pembrey, Wales.
Sophie qualified due to her superb performance at the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Hop Farm in Kent; she ran for Somerset in the Intermediate Girls race and won the bronze medal.
Racing across hills and sand dunes, Sophie and the team ran in beautiful weather across the Welsh coast. Their efforts were rewarded and the English Schools team secured a gold medal in the Intermediate Girls Cross Country 2022 with Sophie finishing in 4th, narrowly losing 3rd place on the final sprint.
