Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal

The Symphony Orchestra met in the evening of the first day back at School of 2023 to begin work on the epic Symphony No. 2 in E minor by Rachmaninoff. Director of Music, Alex Laing, said: “It was fabulous to kick off the new year on this incredible work full of some of the greatest tunes and in the year when the composer would have turned 150. We are so looking forward to the performance in March, which also features Ellington’s Sacred Concerts for choirs and big band.” Other highlights this Term include the ever popular Promenade concerts in Wells Cathedral on the 24th (Brass and Percussion) and 31st (Strings and Woodwind) January and the Early Music prom on 7th February.
