Drama trip to the Big Apple

Twenty very lucky Drama and Theatre Studies pupils flew with Mr Todres and Mrs Deans to one of the most iconic cities in the world at the start of the Easter break: New York City!

Famous for its film, theatre and television industries, New York also boasts one of the most vibrant arts and culture scenes in the world. Staying in an Art Deco hotel right in the heart of Times Square, the group certainly had a packed program full of artistic and cultural activities, which included: walking the High Line; watching Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway; visiting Liberty Ellis Island, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty; enjoying a 360 panoramic view of the skyline at night from the top of the Rockefeller Plaza; visiting the renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art; experiencing a performance workshop with a Broadway actor at Pearl Studios and finally, touring the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

The pupils had an incredible time and created formative memories to last a lifetime. One has since been in touch: “I just wanted to write and say that I had the best time in New York. Thank you for taking all of us to experience such a great place, and all the activities that we did were excellent. I had many stories to tell my family when we came back!
